Father Joe Freedy is the youngest of five children. He grew up in Bethel Park, PA where he attended Saint Thomas More grade school followed by Bethel Park High School. Earning a scholarship to the University at Buffalo to play football, Father Freedy was the starting quarterback for three years before graduating in 2002. After college he entered Saint Paul Seminary in Pittsburgh and then was assigned to the North American College in Rome where he studied at the Gregorian University followed by the John Paul II Institute.
He was ordained a priest in 2008. Fr. Joe served as the vocation director for seven years before being becoming the assistant at St. Alexis and St. Alphonsus Parishes in Wexford.
